Pregnancy:

- Animal studies show no adverse developmental outcomes at doses 13-32 times the recommended human dose.
- Untreated iron deficiency anemia (IDA) increases risks of postpartum anemia, preterm delivery, and low birth weight.
Lactation:
- Lack of data regarding excretion in human milk; breastfeeding is not expected to expose the child to the drug.
